4 books that changed my life

Reading has always been a part of my life. A way to escape from the trauma that followed me all through childhood and into my teenage years. The morality, the meanings, the social commentary were always just a passing blip on my radar. I’m not sure I was even capable of taking in books beyond the surface level.
Over the last few years, because of the pandemic and my own transitioning, that has changed. Particularly this past year. Turning to writing has opened up my mind even more; I can now take in more of the stories I read. I learn, I grow… I find inspiration for my own works. It took me awhile to figure out what kind of writing voice I wanted, what topics I would focus on to express things.
And it was all thanks to the pettiness in me that wanted to write boycunts and boypussys to spite another writer that led to finding where I belonged. To finding the voices of other authors I resonated with. To finding a community. In queer horror erotica.
After reading four specific books, I knew I wanted to write the strange, the weird, the freaky. I want to write stories that blows people minds, just like I had my mind blown.
So I’m going to share the four books that has recently been a huge influence on me, and lead people down the path of their own destruction. (I’m not the greatest at reviews, so don’t expect much.)

Mouth to Mouth to Mouth by Wilt
From the Itchio product page:
This is a ritual, a prayer, a plea.
This is a sacrifice, a bloodletting, a need.
This is a transformation of flesh, one stitch at a time. This is meat from a stone, warm and pulsating. From one mouth to another, this is the passing of a story with far too many limbs, slick and scaly.
Mouth to Mouth to Mouth is a collection of transmasc horror erotica, made up of 7 short stories featuring insects, elves, fairies, and more -- all mired in the grotesque and profane.
Torin’s Thoughts: This collection leads us down a path of gender-fuckery that is horny and insightful. An exploration of transitioning and perspectives, from desperate point of views. I liked the representation of the all-consuming desire trans people face when they want to have their outsides match their insides. How it feels as if we’d do anything to make that happen.

Knives In Your Eyes by Friction Press
From the Itchio product page:
Val is what some people would call precocious, and others would call a monster. Professor Williams calls him a pain in the ass, and that's good enough for Val. He doesn't know what the hunter calls him, but he knows he would like to find out.
Torin’s Thoughts: The bug aspect in this book was the driving factor behind my own desire to write a bug-centered book. I really enjoyed all the characters, the plot, and the worldbuilding. A very unique experience that I highly recommend everyone experience.

Gutted by Gemini Fletcher
From the Itchio product page:
"Do you like to hurt, little one?"
Sid lives their life chasing the thrill of danger and of pain. When this earns them the attention of a creature uniquely capable of providing both, Sid pushes the limits of what their body is able to endure for the sake of pleasure.
Torin’s Thoughts: This one was just for the weird horny. Enough said.

Little Death by PomPoison
From the Itchio product page:
Little Death is an adult M/M 80+ page comic.
Ellery is a shy recluse whose desires are pretty simple: move on from his harrowing experience in conversion therapy, go to school, and talk to the girl he has a crush on. Callisto is a necromancer from a parallel dimension who’s fighting a war.
For reasons clear only to Callisto, his war plan necessitates that Ellery be at his side, without allies, and helpless. Indulging himself in an extensive plan to violate Ellery so fully he becomes an utter captive, Callisto tunes Ellery’s fears like a theremin and plunges him into a well of paranoia so that he can abduct and transmigrate him back to his world.
Torin’s Thoughts: This story can suck you in and not let go. Two comics so far, sprinkled with all the goods you could ever hope for, with splashes of extras on Patreon. My first piece of transmasc art features the MC!
These are all books I plan to reread many times, and I can’t wait to read more by these creators. I hope I can live up to the storytelling that they have achieved.
Thanks for reading, may the rest of your week be good.
